It all started with presentation trauma and my favorite pair of sneakers.

Over the years, the corporate world found subtle and not-so-subtle ways to say, you can’t be yourself here.

Like the time I was told I needed to change out of my Nike Aqua Fuels before meeting with the company President on a trip to NYC.

After experiencing these public speaking challenges at work, I realized I could either shut down or let them fuel me.

This moment became my launch pad to becoming the best presentation designer and public speaker I could be. (Like, really good at it.)

I’ve given thousands of presentations, and my colleagues took notice…

One reached out to me after being invited to give the keynote at a women’s empowerment conference.

As I coached her through her public speaking anxiety, I realized it wasn’t just practical tips she needed; the mental and physical work hand-in-hand with how we show up.

We needed to start with the foundation before we could introduce the strategies.

This is the PowerSpeak Academy story. I started coaching solopreneurs, execs, and emerging leaders who experience presence-related challenges that hold them back from career advancement, so they can build confidence and bring their whole self to work.

Ready to step into your authentic presence?

A note from Founder, Greg Friend.

I believe you should never have to compromise your unique self to be successful at work.

I’m a presence and presentation coach and a data storyteller. I also have tattoos of my kids’ drawings, paint my nails, play hockey, add to my giant sneaker collection, and have a fondness for cursing. And I can hang with major clients in board meetings or on the big stage.

Like speaking after Chrissy Teigen in front of 600 of the world’s key CMOs. Or being in 1:1 meetings with the CEO of Pepsi. These environments gave me the tools to coach my clients, whether they’re nervous in front of their boss, on stage, or on Zoom. I’ve combined my real-world experience with mental reframe and somatic relief techniques to get to the foundation of presentation struggles and help you embrace your authentic voice.
